Wella AG is a company specializing in hair care, styling, colorants and other beauty products, and was founded in 1880 in Germany. In 2020, the investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) announced a 60% acquisition of Wella from Coty. In FY 20_21 the formal divestment of Wella from Coty concluded.

Assignment Journey

The Engagement: This assignment was primarily focused on provisioning delivery assurance and project consultancy supporting best practice. The key assignment deliverables were to mobilise the project and then quality assure the delivery of the new Target Operating Model’s (TOM) transformation deliverables, against baselined milestones, ensuring benefits realisation to plan of c€4m p/a. The role encompassed client side engagement, spanning both IT and business stakeholders and the incumbent service and support provision from Accenture

The Deliverables: Targeted business change and transformation enabled by establishing programme level cadence which spanned both Run and Project teams. Driving the TOM transformation plan whilst coordinating & tracking across Wella actions owners. Provision of change consultancy to support Comms & Stakeholder Plan, whilst coordinating & driving actions & outcomes. Providing business analysis services to assessing the maturity of the Wella Super User Community and providing recommendations on the go-forward plan

Project Management deliverables included establishing consistent Project RAID & reporting processes and standards. The delivery of project management consultancy to establish and execute governance & stand-Up sessions. Leading regular Genesis status & progress updates to IT CIO & LT team. Structure and provide PMO consultancy support for Security compliance initiatives including IT general controls aligned to SOX objectives and IT Audit control remediation set by Wella external auditors.

The business change, transformation and project management deliverables were met and significantly the business benefits realization for year 1 was also met
